JOHN
KRUMM is
a renowned and well-loved dance/music magician. He has been calling and
playing for dances for over 26 years and has been the music and dance
specialist at the
Miquon
School
in
Pennsylvania
for over 20 years. He
performs at festivals such as Ashokan, Hudson River Revival and Pinewoods
the west coast. He has published a book of rounds, partner songs, and
original compositions.
Les
Frères Brunet:
André
(fiddle, mandolin, guitar) and Réjean
(accordion, piano, bass), two of the most well-known and respected
musicians in Québec,
have toured across the globe.
André’s exuberant
style and refined playing have served him well playing for the legendary La
Bottine Souriante
and Celtic
Fiddle Festival.
Réjean,
omnipresent both at dances and concerts, he performs now with Le Vent du
Nord and has played with Domino and La Volée d'castors.
MARTINE
BILLETTE,
one of the most esteemed professional
Quebecois
stepdancers, she has been dancing since the age of 4.
Martine
also possesses great credentials as a piano player
and has
toured with Ménages
à Trois,
Manigance
and The Pierre Schryer Band
and Rapetipetam.
Martine’s talent
is in high demand for both recording and performing. Effortless,
energetic, evidently ecstatic!
Kate
MCLAREN,
an engaging caller and personality,
performs at dances and social occasions in Grey- Bruce and beyond. She
also hosts contra dances and workshops in her Mudtown Pottery studio,
supporting and encouraging dancer, musician and caller participation.
Scatter
the Cats
includes Will Henry, fiddle,
mandolin and octave mandolin, Mark Cruikshank, guitar, bouzouki, banjo and mandola, Frank
Francalanza, mandolin, bodhran, bones and fancy footwork, and
Dan McGee, flute and five-string banjo.
All familiar faces at Fiddlefern dances and regional festivals over
the years, their musical repertoire focuses on traditional Irish and North
American acoustic dance music.
